A Rainy Saturday Game

Saturday October 4th the team had its second game in the annual President's Cup soccer tournament. It had rained all day and was pouring through the entire game. If you think our field was bad, one field was so bad they had to move the game. The worst part of the field was on the sideline Braden was standing on. The ball would roll and stop and the players would just be kicking at water. The referee would have to blow the whistle to stop the play of the game and bring the ball out onto the field and do a drop kick to restart the game. One of our players (Keegan) was taken out in the water and when he stood up he spit out a mouth full of water. Gross. The game was worth standing in the rain getting soaked just for the humor of it all. It also helped we won the game 3-2 defeating Real FC (not REAL Salt Lake). I wish I had taken a video camera to tape all the bloopers. After the game the team all decided to go sliding in the river. Braden and Kenny both lost their shorts while sliding. They had a good time. Too bad not all their games have the same result. Fun and a win. Today is Braden's last outdoor game. Then futsol will start in a few weeks. So we will have a little break and futsol is only once a week. Tomorrow is the big day for REAL Salt Lake. Opening of the new stadium.
